April 15th was the last day to turn in taxes. It's a day of many things: relief (they're DONE!!!), angst (how am I going to pay this?), excitement (alright! I'm getting money back!). I finished mine up last month, and paid in for the first time in awhile, but that's just how it is. I chose the acrylic painting "Opera" from my Rhythm and Hooves Series because the emotion expressed can be interpreted several ways. It's meant to imply the booming big voices of the opera singer, but it could be laughter, it could be a scream, it could be a yell. I imagine what you see could be a reflection of your state of mind at the time. I get a smile when I see it, I find it amusing. I hope your tax experience was not bad, and you get some $$$ back to play with, maybe even to invest- in art!

There are 12 acrylic paintings in my "Rhythm and Hooves" set, this piece is 14"x11'x1.5" gallery wrap of my palomino paso fino mare Melony caught in a front on view yawning. It made me laugh and I could hear her belting out a high C in an operatic voice. A very whimsical piece meant to make you smile and brighten your day. Available through my home studio unless otherwise stated. $175.00 + shipping.

Peek at the painting "Opera"
Here's another peek at my music/dance themed set. This one was a challenge I placed on myself to portray the horse from an angle I find difficult to execute. I guess for that reason it's become on of my favorites because I liked how it came out.
Shawnee, Oklahoma First Friday September 5th is rapidly approaching, and that means my

Select unsold pieces may be immediately entered into the OKC State Fair fine arts competition the following day but will still be available for purchase, and can be picked up/delivered after the fair closes, no later then September 23rd. This acrylic is called "Opera".
